My Background
- I have been working with clients as a therapist since 2017.
- My approach to therapy is eclectic and collaborative. I am also proficient in narrative therapy, mindfulness, and schema therapy.
- I have training in both psychological science and humanistic therapy.
- I have a master’s degree (MA) in Marriage & Family Therapy, which means that I have accrued thousands of hours of experience, under supervision, working with couples and family systems.
- Marriage and family therapists (MFTs) have received specialized training to work with more than one client in a session.
- MFTs are also great at working with individuals, too, because we have a systemic focus that considers the many layers of an individual’s environment (biological, psychological, social and spiritual) during our work together.
- In addition to family systems, I also have extensive training in mindfulness & a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University.
Bonus (Non-Therapist) Stuff
- I grew up in Golden, CO and I have lived and worked in Arvada, CO for over thirty years.
- I’m married and I’m a parent (2 kids).
- In addition to therapy, I have also worked in Information Technology, local government, and the arts.
- Favorite inspirational quote: “In the garden of peaceful serenity, may you be bombarded by the coconuts of wakefulness.” -Chogyam Trungpa.
